The 2010 Short Film Contest welcomes shorts seven minutes or less on one of the following seven topics:
AUTHENTICITY
// COMMUNITY
// SACRIFICE
// COMMITMENT
// TRUTH
// IDENTITY
// HOPE
From first round submissions, 20 Finalists will be selected to write a script on one of the seven topics that they did not select in the first round. From those 20 scripts,
5 filmmakers will be selected and given a budget of $40,000 to create their film.

The Doorpost is offering over $500,000 in total prizes during the '10 competition, including all-expense paid trips, final round film budgets and prizes totaling $160,000.

The Doorpost structures its competition purposefully to build community. Our Finalist workshops in May and June, and Events in November provide the opportunity for filmmakers and the Doorpost staff to meet, and serve to bring unity, friendship and direction into the competitive environment. In the past these events have marked the beginning of various creative and professional partnerships among filmmakers as well.
