//About Bragi
I'm a screenwriter working in LA. I've written a few specs (that's Hollywood slang for screenplays you write for yourself, not for hire) that have been bought by studios. One script of which I'm particularly proud is SEASON OF THE WITCH. It hasn't been made yet, but occasionally there are glimmers of hope. I also wrote the pilot for a TV series that aired several years ago on CBS, although the show went off the rails after the pilot episode, and was taken in a different direction than I would have liked.

I've spent the past several years trying to segue into directing, which is my real passion. I've done several shorts, one called WHITE NOISE that won awards at festivals several years back, and this latest effort, SCARECROW JOE.

This was a particularly challenging short, as we had VERY little money and it was pretty ambitious. I also had no idea how difficult it would be shooting in a field of wheat. Every single piece of equipment you bring in or out of the wheat leaves a swath of destruction behind you, so that you're constantly chasing new wheat. It was a nightmare.

We ran out of money partway through production and were forced to edit together what footage we had. The fact that it came out as well as it did, is primarily due to our editors who put in many many hours trying to make it work. Our DP was also very talented and what footage we got, I think looks pretty good.

Not much else to say, except that I am prepping the new short on the subject of HOPE and it's called CHARLIE THISTLE. Once again, I fear I am biting off more than I can chew. But that's half the fun, isn't it!?

Joining me again is the same DP from Scarecrow Joe, and many of the same key people. Can't wait to get started!
